In this session, Liz Paul will describe her experiences living with obesity, including her journey to overcoming internalized weight bias. Throughout the session, Paul will explore the challenges that weight stigma adds to seeking and receiving meaningful obesity treatment, the danger of internalized weight bias on both mental and physical health, and the role comprehensive compassionate obesity care can play in helping patients overcome internalized weight bias and refocus on treating their disease without shame.
