In this presentation, Dr. Hall will discuss the physiology of human body weight regulation and how our bodies adapt to various changes in diet, including the amount of calories, carbs versus fat, as well as differences in diet quality varying in the amounts of “ultra-processed” foods.
Learning Objectives:
Identify how body weight is regulated as part of a negative feedback control system
Describe how the body responds to diets with wide variation in their ratio of carbohydrate to fat
Describe how the body responds to diets varying in quality as determined by their amount of ultra-processed foods
