Obesity with sarcopenia poses a dual health concern especially in aging populations. This session will review skeletal muscle changes found in aging patients with obesity and discuss the role dietary protein plays as part of a strategy for preventing muscle loss. Participants will learn the benefits of combining physical activity with nutritional strategies to optimally benefit body composition.
Learning Objectives:
Describe muscle changes in obesity among aging populations and learn how to optimize skeletal muscle.
Implement dietary protein strategies for the treatment and prevention of obesogenic sarcopenia.
Synergize exercise and nutritional strategies to optimize health and incorporate daily activity into their routine.
