Dr. Dbouk is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Digestive Diseases and Emory Transplant Center at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut and completed an Internal Medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham followed by fellowship training in both Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology at Emory University School of Medicine. Upon completing his training, Dr. Dbouk joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as a Transplant Hepatologist. He returned to Atlanta in 2016 and was in private practice as a Gastroenterologist and Transplant Hepatologist for several years before joining Emory. While in private practice Dr Dbouk was selected as a top doctor in Atlanta twice in 2020 and 2021. His areas of clinical interest include liver transplantation, treatment of viral hepatitis and management of complications associated with end stage liver disease. Dr. Dbouk’s research has focused on improving outcomes in liver transplant recipients, the management of Hepatitis C in difficult to treat patient populations, and the management of complications of cirrhosis. He has co-authored several textbook chapters and his research has been published in various peer-reviewed journals and presented at several national conferences. Dr. Dbouk is actively involved in community outreach and in educational activities involving medical students and residents.
