Dr. Weronika Gondek graduated from the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice in Poland. She completed the residency in psychiatry at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland in 2011 where she served as an Education Chief Resident. She graduated from the Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship at the Georgetown University/National Institute of Health/Washington Hospital Center in 2012. She is board certified in both psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison psychiatry. She has been working with patients with eating disorders and obesity for many years and has done numerous presentations and written several manuscripts on the topic, including manuscript published in 2017 in the American Journal of Psychiatry as a part of the work with the Council on Psychosomatic Medicine, "Bariatric Surgery and Psychiatric Care". She worked at the Renfrew eating disorder program and at a rank of Assistant Professor at Johns Hopkins University, directing an inpatient consult service at the Howard County General Hospital and the outpatient eating disorder clinic in Columbia, Maryland prior to joining Sheppard Pratt as a Medical Director for the Center for Eating Disorders in September of 2020. She is currently pursuing the Obesity Medicine board certification.
